ERBIL (Hawler), Kurdistan RegionMasrour Barzani held a video call with Doug Burgum to discuss energy cooperation, regional security, and economic stability in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

During the call, Masrour Barzani and Burgum reviewed the current energy outlook in the Kurdistan Region. They highlighted the role of American companies in supporting oil and energy development. Both sides noted that continued cooperation remains important for long-term growth.

They also discussed the broader situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region following the recent ceasefire between the United States and Iran. The conversation focused on stability and the impact of regional tensions on economic activity.

Burgum expressed appreciation for Masrour Barzani’s leadership and ongoing coordination on energy issues. He pointed to the importance of maintaining strong ties between the United States and the Kurdistan Region.

In response, Masrour Barzani thanked the United States for its continued support. He emphasized the need for further assistance to protect energy infrastructure and oil companies operating in the region from terrorist threats.

The prime minister also reaffirmed that the Kurdistan Region remains committed to stability, peace, and economic progress across the Middle East.
