A young Kurdish woman from Qamişlo, Kurdistan, has made headlines across Europe after being crowned Miss Germany 2026. Dua Fares, known online as Rose Mondy, won the national title during the final competition held at Bavaria Film Studios near Munich.

The 26-year-old secured the crown after receiving the highest number of votes from television viewers. She competed against eight finalists who were selected from more than 2,600 applicants across Germany.

Moments after her victory was announced, Fares expressed shock and excitement about the result. She described the moment as overwhelming and said she was filled with emotion after hearing her name called as the winner.

Dua Fares (Rose Mondy): From Online Creator to National Titleholder

Dua Fares (Rose Mondy)

Dua Fares is widely known as a livestreamer and online creator. She has built a strong audience on the streaming platform Twitch, where viewers watch her play games such as Minecraft and Fortnite while discussing online culture and everyday issues faced by women in the gaming industry.

Her influence in the digital space has grown steadily in recent years. In 2025, she was voted Streamer of the Year, highlighting her impact within the gaming and online entertainment community.

Her journey to the Miss Germany crown also reflects persistence. Fares previously reached the final round of the competition in 2024 but had to withdraw due to health reasons. Rather than stepping away from the competition entirely, she returned this year and ultimately secured the national title.

In recent years, the Miss Germany competition has changed its approach. The event now focuses less on traditional beauty pageant standards and places more emphasis on leadership, social engagement, and the personal missions of participants.

During the final event, Dua Fares spoke about the challenges women often face in male-dominated industries such as gaming and technology. She noted that women frequently have to work harder to receive the same recognition.

Her message during the competition centered on encouraging women to believe in their abilities and pursue their ambitions with confidence.

Inspiring the Next Generation

As Miss Germany 2026, Fares plans to use the platform to inspire women who may doubt their own potential. She has expressed interest in promoting confidence, representation, and equal opportunities for women both online and offline.

Her victory has also drawn attention within Kurdish communities worldwide, where many see the achievement as a moment of pride for Kurdish representation on an international stage.

The win marks a milestone not only for Fares personally, but also for a new generation of Kurdish women who are increasingly visible in global media, technology, and culture.
