US and Gulf States Condemn Iranian Missile and Drone Attacks Across Region, Including Kurdistan

The United States and several Gulf countries have condemned Iranian missile and drone attacks across the region, including in the Kurdistan Region, calling them a threat to sovereignty and regional stability.

The United States and six Gulf and Middle Eastern countries have issued a joint statement condemning recent missile and drone attacks launched by Iran across the region, including in the Kurdistan Region.

The statement was signed by the governments of United States, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The countries strongly condemned what they described as indiscriminate and reckless attacks by Iran on sovereign territories across the region. The statement listed Bahrain, Iraq — including the Kurdistan Region — Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE among the affected areas.

“These unjustified strikes targeted sovereign territory, endangered civilian populations, and damaged civilian infrastructure,” the statement said.

The joint declaration described the attacks as a dangerous escalation. It said Iran’s actions violate the sovereignty of multiple states and threaten regional stability. It also said targeting civilians and countries not directly engaged in hostilities is reckless and destabilizing.

The condemnation comes amid an ongoing conflict that began on February 28, when Israeli and US forces launched a joint military operation against Iran. Since then, Iranian missile and drone strikes have been reported across several countries in the region.

In the Kurdistan Region, Erbil has faced multiple drone and rocket attacks. Air defense systems intercepted several incoming projectiles over the city. Erbil hosts the US Consulate and has previously been targeted during periods of regional tension.

An Iraqi militia group, Saraya Awliya al-Dam, claimed responsibility for targeting a US base in Erbil with drones and rockets. Footage circulating on local media showed several projectiles intercepted in the sky.

The joint statement stressed unity among the signatory countries. “We stand united in defense of our citizens, sovereignty, and territory, and reaffirm our right to self-defense in the face of these attacks,” it said.

The coalition also emphasized the role of coordinated air and missile defense systems in limiting casualties and infrastructure damage. Officials said cooperation between the countries prevented greater loss of life.

The regional escalation followed airstrikes carried out by US and Israeli forces on multiple Iranian targets. Iranian state media reported that the strikes resulted in the deaths of senior Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander Mohammad Pakpour, and Defense Council head Ali Shamkhani.

The situation remains tense as regional governments monitor further developments and reinforce defensive measures.
